From warehouse waxing to influencer festival campaigns, the FDD team was busy in July!
Every month brings about new opportunities for growth for our brands and July didn’t miss the mark! From TikTok content creation for our new brand Sliick to a feature in a Glamour blog on the best castor oil haircare products and a new social media campaign for EcoStyle, these are all the best bits from the last month at FDD…
GLAMOUR X Haircare
Glamour featured not one but two of our brands in their online feature about castor oil and its benefits for hair health and thickness… Camille Rose Curl Love Moisture Milk and Jamaican Mango & Lime Original Black Castor Oil made the final cut, with links to retailers included so readers can go straight to the website and purchase! EcoStyle #TurnUpTheVolume
Our PR + Social team are always working hard to spread awareness about our brands and their latest campaign for EcoStyle is a big one! Here enters…: #TurnUpTheVolume.
Starting in July and continuing throughout August, the campaign concept is for selected influencers to take a previous festival hair look and, using the gifted EcoStyle gel and hair accessories, Turn Up The Volume on it! The influencers must make content that shows their old hair look and then their updated style, showing the EcoStyle product that they used to create the look. The campaign has been a massive success so far, with lots of engaging content being shared, such as this video by @ingrida.g, a micro influencer with over 16k followers!

On top of this campaign, EcoStyle also received excellent organic mentions throughout July… Organic mentions boost exposure so they are always great to receive and the PR + Social team were particularly happy when they spotted a video by Yong-chin Marika Breslin, the winner of season 4 of BBC’s Glow Up, where the makeup artist styles an up-do using EcoStyle Argan Oil gel and even tags the brand in the caption! Pattern in ‘And Just Like That’
Pattern came into the UK haircare market and immediately made its mark on the textured hair scene… Founded by the icon herself, Tracee Ellis Ross, it’s not surprising that the empowering haircare brand has been a success. Having previously featured in the Love Island villa (you can read all about that here!), the brand’s leave-in conditioner made an organic appearance in none other than Sex and the City’s spinoff series ‘And Just Like That’!

Pattern Leave-In Conditioner is a restorative treatment made with natural oils for the prevention of dry and frizzy hair… It’s perfect for those with curly, coily or tight-textured hair, helping to give soft curl definition. The product is a fan-favourite and always proving popular with retailers and it was amazing to see it featured on such a big show – talk about exposure!
Treasure Tress’ Billboard
Treasure Tress, UK and Europe’s biggest monthly product discovery box for people with curly hair, has a digital billboard campaign coming up in August and we were super excited to find out that four of our brands will be featured! Pattern, Mane N Tail, Camille Rose and EcoStyle will all be part of the campaign billboard and have already been spotted in behind the scenes shots on Instagram!

Waxing the warehouse with Sliick
We recently started working with Sliick, a personal care brand that specialises in at-home waxing kits and supplies. With microwaveable cups and wax beads, delicious-sounding scents, a beautiful array of colours, and a gummy bear shaped wax bead, the brand is sure to be popular this summer and beyond!
To prepare for the UK launch, our PR + Social team has been creating social media content of the products; explaining the benefits, showing how to use them, and generally showing off all the best features! From ASMR videos with satisfying clips of falling wax beads to funny shots of the gummy bear beads and super useful how-to guides, the content has certainly been fun to make.
A highlight of making the videos, for the social team at least, was waxing the warehouse guys, plus Director Dan, to show how the product works… Megan and Sophie from the Marketing team rounded up Dan, Keith, Lee, Matt, and Liam and gave them all a bit of at-home (or at-work) salon treatment! Everyone was impressed with the product and how effective it was and we can’t wait to share the videos on TikTok and Instagram later this year! Check out some of their reactions below…

All in all, July was another fabulous month at FDD International and we can’t wait to see what’s next for our team and brands! Keep your eyes peeled for more updates and make sure you check out our other blog posts here.
