The new series of Love Island is rumoured to start on the 5th of June and we can’t wait for all the fun, jokes, and, as a beauty business, real-life beauty insights… Each year we’re blessed with hilarious dressing room moments and candid beauty routine close-ups, where the contestants show us how they get their glam on and, just as importantly, off.
2023’s winter series had us extra excited as we spotted not one but two of our brands sitting pretty in the world-famous villa… With Boots selecting a variety of products to be featured in the show (and in their Love Island social media content), we were over the moon when we saw Face Halo and Pattern in the mix.
Pattern is a black-owned haircare brand, founded by the Tracee Ellis-Ross and run on the belief that textured hair should take up the space it deserves. The brand name is more than just catchy; it represents the company’s goal to encourage people to embrace their natural hair pattern. Made with safe and effective ingredients, the product range sets out to provide people with affordable, nourishing haircare products- from shampoo and conditioner to scalp serum and shower brushes- that are designed specifically for their hair type, be it curly, coily, or tight textured. Thanks to the brand’s packaging, which is bright, bold, and empowering, we had no trouble spotting Pattern Leave-In Conditioner and Pattern Cleansing Shampoo sitting front and centre in the villa bathroom, with multiple features across Boots’ social media too. It was fantastic to see such great exposure for a brand that lives to empower people of colour and textured hair.
Face Halo, meanwhile, is a modern skincare brand championing sustainable and economical makeup removal. The Australian brand specialises in reusable makeup remover pads that are made with HaloTech fibres designed to remove makeup and other impurities from the depth of your skin with just water. Face Halo pads are much more effective than regular makeup wipes (watch this video for proof!) and they’re also way better for the environment. Each Face Halo pad replaces up to 500 makeup wipes and can be machine-washed up to 200 times- that’s a huge relief for the environment AND our customers’ bank accounts… A dressing room clip showed Jessie Wynter, who came fifth place in the series, using the Face Halo Original to remove her makeup before bed. What a lovely shout-out!

After such amazing appearances last series, we’re buzzing to see which of our brands will make it into the villa this series. Keep your eyes peeled for us and remember to look out for our next blog post for more FDD updates- see you then!
