Our Story

FDD International was founded by Findlay, Dennis & Dave back in 1992. Each bringing a wealth of experience from their established careers in the beauty industry, the three friends decided to pour their passion and efforts into their own business venture. Findlay having experience in Sales, Dennis in Marketing and Dave in International Manufacturing & Sales were a very credible trio, creating success through hard work, care, commitment, loyalty, strong relationships and personal service. To this day, these core values live on.

Over the space of 10 years, Findlay and Dennis both stepped away from the business, leaving Dave at the helm. Dave being the ambitious, enthusiastic, charismatic guy that was very well-known across the beauty industry and so passionate about introducing new brands into the UK market, built a new team around him. Steve Oates joined the business in 2001 as Sales & Marketing Director and a new phase for FDD began.

Family was at the heart of everything Dave did, and once Dave took control of FDD he wanted his family involved in the business. Dave’s son Daniel became an integral part of the business taking on the role as Operations Director and managing the supply chain, something we have been highly praised for over the years with ‘best in class’ service levels.

In 2016 Steve Oates retired and Dave became Chairman, passing the reigns over to Daniel to become Managing Director, A new Board of Directors were appointed, Nicola Sheehan in Finance and Stuart Catton, Nadia Peacock and Daniel Silvester in the Commercial team. The leadership team evolved but our core values remained. The business continued to grow from strength to strength and within 3 years the size of the business doubled.

2020 for many is a year that we will remember forever, but for FDD it is a year when we sadly lost Dave; a true gent and inspiration to us all.

FDD International now employs over 30 people in the UK. Under the leadership of Daniel, we continue to blend our traditional values with a pioneering, contemporary attitude to create the very best environment for our clients’ brands to flourish.

Dave’s Legacy

Today, in our 30th year of business, we are proud to say we continue to hold on to and nurture brands we have had since the late 1990s, whilst also partnering with new and exciting brands. Dave taught us to never rest on our laurels, work hard, look after each other and have fun, and we aim to never let him down on that.
