September was a busy month for FDD and its newest brands with the PR + Social team heading off to Nottingham to promote Dots for Spots, Anua being Boots’ second biggest skincare launch of the year, PR manager Madison hosting a virtual press launch for Proactiv and much more… Read on for all of September’s highlights – it was a great month all round!
Dots for Spots x Nottingham University
Last month, Head of Marketing Ruth, PR + Social Media Executive Atlanta, Marketing Executive Abbi and Social Media Executive Kayla headed off to Nottingham University to promote Dots for Spots pimple patches to uni students! We had a promotional video on campus (edited in-house by Marketing Executive Sophie) and the girls were equipped with free samples, microphones and custom t-shirts! To create content for the brand’s social channels (which our PR + Social team manages in-house), whilst also encouraging students to engage with the brand, Abbi, Kayla and Atlanta approached people on campus and asked them questions such as ‘how many Dots for Spots patches do you think I’m wearing?’ Lots of students guessed 2 (the answer was 5!) highlighting how subtle the patches are… All in all, the day was a great success and a lovely experience for the social team.

Anua x Boots
Anua launched online at Boots last month and the retailer shared with us that it was their second most successful skincare launch of the year! This wasn’t surprising as the brand’s Niacinamide + TXA Serum sold out in just 24 hours! The retailer supported the launch with a multi-branded Instagram video and lots of onsite features such as category page carousels and direct links to the brand.
The K-beauty brand will be rolling out to Boots stores on the 14th of October so watch this space!

Proactiv press launch
Last month, our PR, Influencer & Social Media Assistant Manager Madison did an incredible job hosting a Proactiv on Zoom. With Proactiv’s Megan MacDonald (Head of Product Development), Dr. Rachel Nazarian (Dermatologist) and Dr. Josie Howard (Psycho-dermatologist), and influencer Afia Kufour (@dontpopthatspot), on the panel, the event offered loads of insight and value to those who attended.
Attendees included journalists from Daily Mail, Stylist, Glamour, SheerLuxe, The Times, Evening Standard, Hello! and more and we have received two brilliant features off the back of it so far.

This piece by Metro (monthly online reach of 18.6 million unique visitors!) highlights the ingredients in Proactiv and praises the products, calling them a ‘dream’ meanwhile this piece by Beauty News Daily gives details on Proactiv’s history and pushes people to shop the brand at Boots.
EcoStyle at the NTAs
EcoStyle was used by international hair stylist Ellie Fox Hair (@elliefoxhair – 7.7k followers) to create this gorgeous slick back look for Love Island’s Leah Taylor (@leahjtaylorr – 384k followers) at the NTAs. Ellie shared pictures of Leah on her Instagram and tagged @ecostyle_uk.

Camille Rose x Treasure Tress
The latest Treasure Tress x Camille Rose takeover box (the first in over 3 years!) went down a treat with the community – check out the comments in the phone below! Treasure Tress shared loads of content on Instagram about the box so it was fabulous exposure for Camille Rose and it’s amazing to see how well received the branded box was.

IMARAIS x The Beauty Awards
IMARAIS Glow Gummies are in the running to win a 2024 Beauty Award. Fingers crossed we win and please vote for them here!

A trip to the US
Senior Haircare Manager Danni and Sales and Marketing Director Stu had a very productive few days in the US spending tonnes of time with Camille Rose, Mielle and EcoStyle to discuss new product drops and strategy. They also spent lots of time with new brand TGIN… It turned out to be the CEO’s birthday so they joined the team in their traditional birthday ‘Champagne and Chicken Wings’!
Beauty Trends Conference
Nadia and Badur attended the annual Beauty Trends & Innovation Conference in London last month. A day for trend-led learnings, inspiration and networking, the event had over 300 attendees, presentations, panel discussions, breakouts and networking and the overarching themes of the day were AI, Sustainability and Social Commerce!
Berkshire Women’s Aid donation
We did our annual donation of haircare products to Berkshire Women’s Aid last month! Berkshire Women’s Aid offers advice and support and runs 7 refuges across Reading, Bracknell and Wokingham for women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
FDD fun days
Last month we had an FDD Fun Day! Our Fun Days are the perfect opportunity to get the whole company together for some fun, food and games. At our latest Fun Day, we had a darts and ping pong competition plus loads of food and drinks!
