May was another busy month for FDD with exciting campaign launches, brand catch-ups, new team members and more! Read on to find out all the best bits from last month…
RapidLash
May was a brilliant month for RapidLash! The PR and Social team – PR, Influencer and Social Media Assistant Manager Madison and our new PR and Social Media Executives Kayla and Atlanta – launched our new affiliate campaign last month! The RapidLash affiliate program allows influencers to promote RapidLash while also making money themselves…
How does it work? Influencers apply to become a RapidLash affiliate and we accept all suitable applications, giving them access to our affiliate portal. Here, influencers are supplied with a unique tracked link (which directs to our DTC RapidLash website). Influencers can then share this link with their followers while promoting our products. This helps direct potential customers straight to our website and any sales made through the tracked link are logged on the affiliate portal, with 10% of these sales credited to the relevant influencer.
To launch the campaign, our PR and Social team carefully selected a group of relevant and engaging influencers and sent them mailout boxes, consisting of free RapidLash product and a leaflet introducing the affiliate campaign. This encouraged the influencers to sign up to our affiliate scheme and kickstarted the program! We can’t wait to see how it goes – keep your eyes peeled for an update!

Our PR and Social team play a big role in helping RapidLash reach more and more potential customers. By setting up organic and paid social content (by gifting free product and sending personalised mailout boxes to relevant influencers), we can reach more of the right people! A great example of this is a recent collaboration with Shane Cooper, a beautician that works with the likes of Maya Jama and other celebrities. With over 112k followers on Instagram, Shane has a large, engaged audience and, after gifting RapidBrow to him a few weeks ago, we have received lots of organic social content, such as the Instagram story below!

Brand catch ups
Catching up with brands and nurturing great relationships with our clients is a huge part of what FDD stands for. Last month we hosted the Mielle leadership team for a great couple of days exploring trade and opportunities for growth. It was great to connect and align with the brand and we loved playing host!

We also connected with two of our biggest and oldest clients last month… Our Beauty Accessories Director Nadia, Head of Marketing Ruth and Beauty Accessories Category Manager Badur jetted off to LA to catch up with A.I.I. and LifeTech! A.I.I. (who own Ardell and DUO) shared lots of new exciting products with us and LifeTech (who own RapidLash) introduced us to their new leadership team. Nadia, Ruth and Badur had a great time catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones and we’re looking forward to another year of working together.

Ardell
Last month was full of retailer product launches for Ardell… We launched Seamless Faux Mink into Boots, Seamless Naked into Superdrug and False Eyelashes, and DUO Individual Lash Glue into Look Fantastic, Superdrug and False Eyelashes!
Over on social media, our social media agency Sparkle PR have been producing fantastic results… Last month’s content boosted Ardell UK’s Instagram net follower growth by 158.2% and the engagement rate went up to 4.8% (a large percentage above the industry average), meanwhile on TikTok, comments were up by 90%!
EcoStyle
In-store activations play a big role in boosting brand awareness and driving sales. Last month, an out-of-aisle EcoStyle tray went live in Superdrug stores across the UK. The tray was designed in-house by our Senior Marketing Executive Francesca and we’re thrilled with how it looks in-store, alongside Superdrug’s 60th Birthday celebrations!

EcoStyle Argan Oil Styling Gel is featured in the latest Treasure Tress box, a monthly product discovery box that allows customers to explore and try out a selection of different textured haircare products every month. Treasure Tress has generated lots of social content around the box which means free press for us! We’re always happy to see our products being organically promoted and we’re so happy that our gel will reach more people.

Expanding the team
Our team has been expanding as we continue to take our brands higher and further and our portfolio of clients continues to grow. Over in the Marketing Department, we gained 3 new faces in May! Atlanta Le Mans Palmer and Kayla O’Reilly recently joined us as PR and Social Media Executives. They will be supporting Madison in creating online presence, boosting brand awareness and developing online communities for a selection of our brands! Abbi Little recently joined us as a Marketing Executive and will be working alongside Francesca and Sophie to work on all things marketing – press releases, in-store activations like tray designs, and much much more! It’s always exciting to have new faces and new perspectives on board and we can’t wait to see where the year takes us.
